Rocky Point Ice Cream’s Shift Manager position is responsible for leading our team in delivering an exceptional experience for our customers, a good flow, and great vibes during every shift. The Shift Manager is responsible for all business execution during shifts including cash handling, cleanliness, keeping team moral high, and delighting our customers. This is a fun and exciting time to join our team as we continue to steadily grow and expand.

Our management team is small, which means we work closely together and form a respectful fun environment to work in. We value input and ideas from all positions in our company and hope the successful candidate will grow and develop with us.

We are seeking to fill permanent part-time, permanent full-time and seasonal positions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing daily functions of the store on-shift
  • Delegating tasks during opening, closing and slow times and ensuring tasks are completed at a high level
  • Answering staff questions and aiding and training where needed
  • Serving & customer service
  • Setting a good example for fellow Scoopers and Senior Scoopers
  • Making coffees and hot beverages for customers
  • Answering the phone
  • Selling cakes and distributing cake orders
  • Recording and reviewing daily happenings and communicating with owner, operations manager and front of
    house manager
  • Attending monthly Manager meetings

REQUIREMENTS

  • Available a minimum 4 shifts a week 
  • Available to work at least 2 closing shift per week
  • Available to work at least one weekend day per week (all schedules allow for Friday/Saturday or Sunday/Monday off)
  • Food Safe Level 1 (Mandatory)
  • Limited summer vacations (can be accommodated based on other management staffs vacation requests)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Great communication skills and a professional, friendly attitude
  • Have retail or client/customer service experience
  • Willingness to do ‘any’ task with a positive attitude. For example, taking out the garbage, washing tubs, moving ice cream. At Rocky Point Ice Cream tasks are all equal.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs on a regular basis

COMPENSATION

  • $15/hour + tips with incremental, merit-based raises
  • Flexible scheduling, posted at least a month in advance with the ability to trade shifts

The Special Events Truck Managers are responsible for the overall look, feel, and quality of the customer experience at the Rocky Point Ice Cream Truck. They are expected to manage events, co-ordinate staff required, and work those events which includes driving and scooping. This is a Summer position starting now until Sept 3rd 2018 with an option to move into a permanent or part-time position at one of our retail stores.

While the Truck Manager position is hard work, it offers a fun environment and job variety as we provide our service for all the major concerts in in the lower mainland, private corporate events, weddings, parties, and movie sets. Honestly who isn’t happy when an ice cream truck shows up offering delicious hand-crafted treats.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Make contact with event co-ordinators and work with them for set up details at each event
  • Evaluate each event and determine staffing and product requirements
  • Prepare truck for each event including – water, power, change floats, uniforms etc.
  • Prepare re-and post-event reports
  • Communicate with Food Truck Coordinator pre & post events 

Driving & Logistical Responsibilities:

  • Each shift will include picking up the truck at the beginning of the day or parking, unloading, and locking it for the night.
  • Each shift may include filling the truck with water, for service use.
  • At the beginning of each shift, stock the truck for the day with ice cream tubs, pints, napkins and any other items required for service.
  • Drive the truck to scheduled events on time.
  • Obey all traffic laws and any additional Rocky Point Ice Cream’s driving safety procedures.

Customer Service & Scooping Responsibilities:

  • Greet every customer as they arrive to order
  • Have fun and enjoy scooping and serving ice cream treats
  • Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines with care
  • Keep truck interior and exterior inviting and clean at all times
  • Wash utensils throughout your shift
  • Run cash register; follow Rocky Point Ice Cream’s cash handling procedures
  • Contribute to Rocky Point Ice Cream’s goals for increasing sales and creating loyal customers
  • Thank every customer

Social Media Responsibilities:

  • Take some pictures at each event and share with the Social Media Co-ordinator, so they can post on our social media platforms

Cash Handling/Bookkeeping Responsibilities:

  • Cashing our daily
  • Maintaining accurate sales reports for each event
  • Balance float
  • Complete cost and expenses reports for each event
  • Complete starting and ending inventory

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Valid Food Safe Certificate
  • Fun, outgoing personality!
